I'd like to encourage you to visit my blog at Gaia, as I have been posting extensively to it. My goal for most blogs is to discuss timeless topics, rather than current affairs. So, if you enjoy what you read on the first screen – you may wish to browse through my blog index.

Next, let me say that this profile (after this first paragraph) is generally about what I am “doing” rather than what I am feeling, sensing, intuiting – and even thinking. And, of course, I hope to communicate more on that intimate level here on Gaia. But, the truth is that I am doing a lot of things. Some of them speak for themselves (extensively). And, I'm hoping that this profile is a chance just to set all of that busy-ness out on the table. For me, Gaia is something new and different. And, I'm looking forward to participating in this space in ways that might be new and different for me. I look forward to interactions with people on this list that open up new doors and windows in my mind – and soul.

OK. Now, here are the things that I am doing and have done:



I currently serve as Dean of Programs for a distant learning college called The University of Philosophical Research. It is affiliated with the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles. We offer masters degrees in consciousness studies and in transformational psychology. Naturally, I am very interested in both areas.

I am also president of a nonprofit organization called the Intuition Network. Our goal is to help create a world where everyone is encouraged to cultivate and apply their inner, intuitive abilities.



I have been a writer, television host and producer, psychotherapist, businessman and researcher of extraordinary human capacities and psychic abilities. My newest book is called The PK Man: A True Story of Mind Over Matter. It is the story of a 20 year field investigation I conducted with a man who had extraordinary psychokinetic/precognitive abilities.



From 1988 to 2002, my weekly television program, Thinking Allowed, has been shown throughout the United States. During this period I have conducted hundreds of interviews with leading figures in psychology, philosophy, science, health and spirituality. About 200 videotapes from this series are available for sale on the website.
 
I hold a unique doctoral diploma in “Parapsychology” from the University of California at Berkeley. Awarded in 1980, it remains the only doctoral diploma in parapsychology ever awarded by an accredited, American university.  



I am author of three previous books. The Roots of Consciousness: Psychic Exploration Through History, Science and Experience was originally published in 1975 by Random House. Since then it has been widely used as a college text for introductory courses in consciousness exploration. A second, revised edition was published in 1993 by Council Oak Books of Tulsa, OK. My second book, Psi Development Systems, based on his doctoral dissertation was released in 1983 as a Ballantine paperback. It is an evaluation of ancient and modern methods for training extrasensory abilities. My third book, Thinking Allowed, released by Council Oak Books, is a collection of thirty-two interviews from the television series. 

I am past-president of the California Society for Psychical Study and past-vice-president of the Association for Humanistic Psychology. I am currently a member of the American Psychological Association and the Parapsychological Association.

I also serve as Executive Director of three management consulting and training companies, TACK-USA, TMI US and Branded Customer Service. My primary involvement in these companies is to support my wife, Janelle Barlow, whose expertise is the basis upon which they were developed.
