ESP at "Adventure Trails"

Adventure Trails (From Chapter Three of Psi Development Systems)

A system purporting to develop ESP is associated with a "survival school" located on Laughing Coyote Mountain near Black Hawk, Colorado. The literature of the Adventure Trails Research and Development Laboratories reads, at best, more like poetry than science. The process involves solitude in self contained units high in the Rocky Mountains, culminating in the "frontal lobes experience": "The method of causing the frontal lobes experience takes from 6 weeks to 6 months. The method is brain self-control. Each test subject totally controls her/his backward self-therapy and forward neuron preparation exercises. Each test subject is introduced to elementary neurology so she/he can invent the most efficient (and joyous) brain dormancy exploration method imaginable. Based upon the hard facts of neuron/tissue physics, each test subject extrapolates daringly and continuously into the new frontier of consciousness exploration" (Lingo 1976a).

Sexual orgasm is one of the basic tools in this training. The director of the program, T. D. Lingo, maintains that he has been conducting this "research" since 1957, and that test subjects have consistently reported a standard progression of experience with regard to orgasm: (1) Normal, single-shot spasm on an emotion scale from I to 10; (2) Multiple explosions, from 2 to 100 (averaging between 25 and 50), on an emotional scale from I to 10; (3) "Whole brain orgasm," a new order of feeling and understanding; above I I on emotional scale; and (4) out of brain orgasm (Lingo 1976b).

Lingo apparently equates the "whole brain orgasm" to the "frontal lobes experience" and the fourth stage to an awakening of psychic awareness. He states: "The frontal lobes mechanism is known, teachable and predictable. Raw telepathy oozes out continuously, but uncontrollably and unpredictably. The next step, now ongoing, is to teach test subjects to release their own telepathy in objectively measureable demonstrations" (Lingo 1976c).

More detailed description of the Adventure Trails psi training procedures has not been released.
