Poet Virgil & Emperor Augustus with Rainbow YinYang

Virgil was one of the greatest poet of the ancient Roman empire -- and Augustus was, very possibly, its greatest emperor. He ended a century of civil war and instituted the period known as the Pax Romana. Virgil's epic Aeneid was a cornerstone of ancient Roman identity -- and was written to glorify the rule of Augustus. Centuries later, Dante, in his Divine Comedy, wrote of Virgil as his guide to the realms of hell and purgatory.
Here, the Rainbow YinYang symbolizes the fullness and depth of Virgil's poetic vision as a tribute to the rule of Augustus, about which he (implicitly) wrote.
